traffic accidents. The survey
will involve the Oklahoma De-
partment of Public Safety,
Department of Health, State
Medica Association and the
State Hospital Association.
This is the second project
in which the agencies have
cooperated with Cornell Uni-
versity’s Automotive Crash
Injury Research. The previ-
ous research began in Janu-
ary, 1964, and ended last
June. It provided a great
deal of data on injuries re-
ceived in car accidents.
The current project will
deal only with late-model
automobiles. But by accumu-
lating data on the new cars
and comparing it to that acc-
umulated in previous surveys
it will be possible to deter-
mine how effective certain
changes in design have been
in preyenting or lessening the
severity of injuries.
