Congratulations to Jim & Ellie
Minx on their first grandchild.
Jim's daughter Stacey and her
husband Vincent Moreno are the
proud parents of a 7 lb. 12 oz.
baby boy born September 12,
1989. Stacey and Vincent have
named their son Erick Lee
Moreno. Both mother and dad are
doing fine and grandpa is beam-
ing from ear to ear.
We were so fortunate the other
day when Jack Chandler, retired
Oklahoma City firefighter, came into
the office with slides taken of the
ground breaking ceremony for the
museum. Can you imagine, out here
on a windy hill with nothing but
scrub oak and blackjacks to the
beautiful edifice that exists today
. . . your firefighters museum.
This was a dream of many people
who with perseverance and fore-
sight were able to make their dream
come true. These pictures, we were
told, were taken in May 1967. Now
assuming the convention was in
June, that would make Jimmie Mar-
tin. Lawton. president; Bassil Tun-
nell, The Village, 1st vice president;
Byron Hollander. Oklahoma City,
2nd vice president; Clint Taylor,
Tulsa, 3rd vice president; Andy
Miller, Executive Director and
Becky Mullens, Executive Secretary.
In the Articles of Incorporation of
the Museum it states the particular
business and objects of the corpora-
tion are as follows:
1. To maintain a museum for
relics, effects, mementoes, and other
items of historic interest relating to
firemen and the fire service.
