“I imagine I cm in his office talking
-'to him” : -
THAT’S THE SECRET of one business man’s sue-
cess in talking over thetelephone
He pictures himself face to face with the man with
whom he is talking ' ?
He “sees” his man over the telephone
And he talks to him with added carefulness and con-
sideration and courtesy because he knows that all
depends on his voice and manner of talking
The practice of trying to “see” the man you are talk-
ing with goes a long way toward making all your
telephone conversations pleasant and more of them

Crude Will Advance
With the peak of petroleum
production in the United States
admittedly readied and with the
demand forpehpleum products
continuing to broaden despite in-
dications of constantly decreas-
ing crude oil production the oil
securities situation presents an
interesting study In face of
this situation oil securities as a
general rule are selling at a low-
er level than they were in the
latter part of 1915 before the
realization of the reaching of the
high point of production had be-
come crystallized: So acute bss
become the demand for high-
grade crude oil that the predic-
tion is freely made by oil men
that' the price of Pennsylvania
and Mid-cOntinent crude oils will
advance substantially in the next
several months ' There are oil
men who express the belief that
Pennsylvania crude eventually
will reach $5 a barrel as against
$310 at present and that Mid-
continent crude will sell at $3
whereas it now sells at $170
