The following rules and regulations have received the strong
approval of many business men as well as our subscribers and
contestants — all agree that our contest is to merit a great in-
terest among the young people of Dewey county this'fall
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1— In each issue of the Advocate beginning July 23rd will be foiad a ballot which may
be voted for any young man or lady actually a resident of Dewey County
2— The contest began with the issue of Thursday July 23rd and will close Thursday
December 24fch at 10 o’clock P M Ballots may be mailed to this office or personally delivered
and will then be deposited in a box’ On Wednesday afternoon of each week the box will be
opened and the ballots counted by the Judges
3— But one name may be voted for on each ballot if by'mistake two names are written
the first only will be counted
4— Additional votes may be secured in this way For every years subscription paid in
advance $100 a certificate will be issued good for 103 votes for 6 months subscription in ad-
vance 50 cent3 a certificate will be issued good for 50 votes for every $103 back subscrip-
tion paid a certificate will be issued good for 100 votes for every p3 cents buck subscription
paid a certificate will be issued good for 50 votes s
5— The ballots contained in all papers not mailed will -be cancelled so that such papers F
will not contain a legal ballot
6— Ballots or new or renewal subscriptions should be left with or mailed to The Advocate
and marked “Contest Judges” Taloga Oklahoma These letters will be placed in a locked box
and will not be opened except by the judges on Wednesday afternoons
7— Ballots may be voted at any time prior to the hour the contest close's v
8— The weekly count will be made at 2 o’clock every Wednesday afternoon and be re-
ported in the Advocate every Thursday
9— The judges of the Contest will be the following well known gentlemen: C H Jameson
of the law firm of Hickok & Jameson D D Delaney Assistant Cashier of the First National
Bank and Prof Fred L Hoyt County Superintendent
10— At the close of the Contest the two who have received the greatest number of votes
will be declared the winners and they will promptly receive certificates of deposit in the First
National Bank of Taloga Okla the amount necessary to defray all expanses to and from the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition at-S&n Francisco California at any time during the-
exposition agreed upon between the winning contestants and the judges
11— No one connected with the Advocate can become a candidate ' '
