children on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary with a
reception Sunday afternoon. June 26, 1977 in the Chickasha Bank
Civic Room
Herman Stephens and Marleta Hill were united in marriage J une
26. 1962 at the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church by Rev Wade E.
Darby.
Mr Stephens is a machinist at Chickasha Manufacturing Co.
Mrs Stephen* is employed as the bookkeeper and office manager
at Jane Brooks School for the Deaf and is co-owner of M Vela's
Book and Gift Store at 519 Chickasha Avenue
The reception was hosted by their children. Mr and Mrs. Duane
Calhoun (Nancy), Mr and Mr* Gary Null (Roxanne), and Misses
Stacey and Stephanie Stephens
They have two granddaughters. Amy Calhoun and Mandy Null.

sion and the Governor's Advi
sory Committee for Aerospace
Education at Southwestern
State University.
Participating in the workshop,
which is rotated among the state
college* and universities, are 33
teachers from across Oklahoma
An 11 member staff of instrue
tors it headed by Dr Kenneth
Wiggins, professor in science
education at Oklahoma State
University, who is director of
the workshop and chairman of
the Governor's Committee on
Aerospace Education, and Jim
Schooley. deputy director of the
Oklahoma Aeronautic* Commis
sion.
Purpose of the workshop
which runs through June 30 is,
according to Dr Wiggins, to
acquaint educator* with the
State* large aviation industry
and to make them aware of the
career opportunities the in
dustry offers Dr Wiggins also
noted that participant* are deve
loping curriculum materials and
taking field trips
During the opening week of
the workshop, participants have
been busy studying career* in
aerospace industry, weather
theory and aviation weather and
taking part in building model
airplanes and rocket*. The group
also has studied astronomy and
navigation and taken orientation
flights from Weatherford* Staf
ford Field
Activities in the remaining
two week* of the workshop will
include a flight via Air National
Guard aircraft to Pensacola.

Eglin Air Force Base and Pen
sacola Naval Air Station and
take 1 cruise on the aircraft
carrier USS Lexington.
The group will see actual
flight operations on the carrier
cruise
A field trip to Bethany and
Wiley Post Airport also are
planned The group will tour the
airport and the Rockwell Inter
national plant
During sessions on the South
western campus, participants
will continue to study weather,
navigation and astronomy as
well as hear from speakers and
instructors on a variety of other
topics such as wind tunnels. Air
Force Reserve officers' training
programs, trends in aeronautics
research and the National Aero
nauties and Space Administra
tion.
