Since our last Items were sent in
Oklahoma has had quite a tussle
with the weather man
Crover Ridley lout a couple of
head of yearlings cause cold
weather
We lost a couplo of shoats by
being frozen to death and chickens
were frozen to death and sticking
up in trees where they were roost-
ing The loss In the nlghborhood was
considerable to mention from the
recent cold spells
These cold spells remind us of
the blizards A A Bearce told us
about in Texas He explained to
us the way it happened There
were nine blizzards a week in Tex-
as each blizzard lasting from 24
to 48 hours He said the blizards
Just criss-crossed and lapped over
each other About the only differ
ence we can see between our re-
cent blizzard experience and those
lapping over Texas blizzards is the
weather man let a whole herd of
them stampede Ho (the weather
man) overtook them in Oklahoma
and had them milling around here
for two or three weeks before he
igot them under control We hope
it does not happen again for many
years
Several days ago while Mrs Joe
Gaut and Mrs Musgrove were go
ing to Rush In a buggy they met
an auto Their team became
I frightened turned almost square
around and ran over a mile the
j lines dragging on the ground
I Neighbors stopped the team and
'neither Mrs Gaut nor Mrs Mus-
' grove were injured jior any injury
J was done to the team or buggy
I Joe Gaut had the misfortune of
! losing his best saddle horse The
Miss Tearl May decided the wo-
man's College should be removed
to College Mound if they want her
for 8ii attendant We are of the
opinion Mr and Mrs Brightweli
could handle that institution easily
along with our night school and
give good satisfaction
Henry Mileur addressed the Col-
lego Mound folks last Friday night
His subject was co-operation and
made an Impressive argument
We were rather ashamed of some
of the young people's behavior at
the literary last Friday night and
think something should be done to
prevent a repetition of such acts
Mrs Ktrkpatrick was visiting
friends and relatives at Marlow
last week
Edgar Bernard decided he would
take his share of troubles In this
world and purchased an auto Ills
first trip out with Mrs Bernard
was a start to Lawton about 30
miles He left home In the morn-
ng He could not tell everything
that happened to them except that
he says there are hundreds of good
people In this world and he got
help and spmpathy from all Well
after traveling all day he should
have got to El Paso if necessary
but he only managed to reach Louis
Courcler's home about dark ten
miles from his starting point with
tho help of Kiah May Kiah could
tell some hair splitting Incidents In
this auto life if he would Mr and
Mrs Bernard had nightmares that
night but next morning bravely
mounted that auto The last we
heard from them they were stuck
in a mud hole
cause of the horse's death is un-
known The horse appeared in good
health at night and ate his feed as
usual and next morning was dead
Miss Maud Alexander spent last
week visiting relatives near Star
school house

Last Thursday afternoon the
writer visited the Prairie View
school and was Indeed infatuated
with the little bright-eyed boys and
girls that were taking such an in-
terest In their books especially the
juniors who occupy tho east room
and are under the Jurisdiction of
Miss Meeks The little tots seem
not only Interested In their school
work but also In their drill exer-
cises The juniors under the supervis-
ion of Miss Waters consist of the
5th grade up to the 8th and are
also showing good Interest rral-
rie View has four things that are
unexcelled and that is a good lit-
erary a good Sunday school and a
good day school and located In the
midst of some smart intelligent
and friendly people who are al-
Vvays ready and willing to do all
they can for their neighbors and
the community in which they re-
side At this writing Monday we are
having some fine weather again
and several farmers of this locality
are making preparations for sow-
ing oats for spring pasture and it
is a capital idea too
Mrs N W Wilson of this vlcin
ity left here Sunday for Oklahoma
City where she will visit relatives
Tor a few days While passing
Sunday afternoon we stopped and
chatted with Mr Wilson and find
him to be an Intelligent thorough
up-to-date farmer He takes the

With unerring judgment of value—
With a rush that swallowed up a
record production in jig time —
The public took more than 50000 of
the $750 Overlands in six months
In six months we've absorbed all the
overhead absorbed all the develop-
ment expense realized on all the ex-
perimental cost that is usually spread
ever a year
We covered our material require-
ments at before-the-war prices— saved
three and a half million dollars on
aluminum and another million on
eteel
We have increased our production
capacity of 300 cars per day last June
to 1 000 cars per day
So again we have broken ell records
Again we have planned and bought
material for a bigger production
program
And "gnin wn f? set :ing new and

dominated the automobile market for
the last six months— now made even
more clearly dominant
Here Is the car with a performance

And though the price is reduced the
car is improved
It has an up-to-the-minute power
plant en bloc type developing full
thirty-five horsepower It has abun-
dant power and speed and an exception-
ally quick get-away
Tlic value is pre-eminent— un-
approached We guarantee that the price for thl9
model will never be lower
But this price reduction is made in
the face of a rising material market —
we cannot guarantee that it will not be
higher
