Southwest Youth and Family Services, Inc. continues to work with local law officials and assist
them in any way possible concerning these allegations. However, there will be no further public
comments regarding the allegations.
Stanley Wilson was employed by SW on August 28, 2006 as the Drug Court Coordinator for
Caddo County. His written recommendations included specific references to his integrity and
reliability. In addition, he passed an OSBI background check and tested clean for drugs and/or
alcohol. Wilson worked for SW for almost 5 years without any complaints from other
employees, clients, or law enforcement.

Wilson was employed for compliance purposes only and had no direct ties to the highly
successful and well-regarded drug and alcohol treatment programs offered by SW for over 15
years. In the nearly 40 year history of the nationally accredited Southwest Youth and Family
Services, Inc., no employee has been arrested for activities related to his work assignment. In
regard to Wilson’s alleged criminal activities, he acted alone, without the knowledge of SW and
outside of his training and scope of employment.

Southwest Youth and Family Services, Inc. (SW), its board of trustees, and all of its employees
are deeply disturbed by the recent arrest of and allegations against its former employee Stanley
Wilson. All of us deeply regret the emotional toll experienced by those involved and sincerely
wish the very best for each of them.

families, schools, busi-
nesses and other organiza-
tions interested in building
good character.
"The consistent out-
comes we want in educa-
tion. business and in life
are heavily influenced by
our character and compe-
tence,” Mellor said.
“When we understand
this, it makes sense why
leaders should focus on
character in their schools,
businesses and communi-
ties.”
Tom Hill, author of the
book Making Character
First, spoke on being pur-
poseful in building charac-
ter.
"I‘ve never met a teach-
er that doesn't emphasize
character to some degree,”
Hill said “Today we're
equipping future teachers
to be more proficient at it,
and showing them how to
integrate character into
math, reading, science,
and other subjects."
As more teachers inte-
grate character in their
daily lessons and conver-
sations, Smith said she
expects more students will
be "thoughtful about the
choices they make and
more courageous to do the
right thing, even when it’s
hard."
