The Chickasha Optimist Club held its annual Youth Appreciation Week recognizing outstand-
ing high school seniors from Grady County. Each school’s administrative head received a let-
ter requesting that an outstanding senior be selected to be honored at a gathering in the
Chickasha Hotel. School superintendents and/or principals introduced each senior, stating
why that particular senior was chosen, what made the selected senior special, telling the
senior s past accomplishments and future plans. Pictured above, from left to right is Judy
Sherman, chairperson of the Youth Appreciation Week Committee, Breann Allison, of Alex,
and Alton Pawling, superintendent of the Alex school district, as Breann is honored.
