“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
There are many times when we do not believe that God is working. We all
pass through periods when we doubt that there is any purpose to our life.
Even committed Christians are not always sunny optimists. Despair is part of
the human condition.
Only in looking backward can we began to see that “all things work together.”
I his is the key to understanding God’s purpose. If we see life as a series of
separate events we cannot see God working, but if we survey our life we see
that everything works together.
If your life is in a period of doubt and despair, read this passage again and
believe that God is working.
