Nrs. Sims Insane
Becomes Violent and Attempts Sui-
cide-Is taken to the Asylum.
For some time Mrs. Sims, the
widow of the murdered sheriff
of Harmon county, has been ex-
hibiting signs of insanity. In
fact, ever since her attempt to
kill Bart Roberts, her actions
have been suspicious. She has
gradually grown worse until
about a week ago she became
violent, refusing to eat or drink.
She attempted to kid herself and
was only prevented from doing
so by the vigilance of the officers
in charge, She became abusive

Fire on North Side.
Wednesday morning the resi
dence of Ellis Cox, in the north
part of town, burned. Mrs. Cox
had gone to her sister's, who
lives quite near, leaving a tire in
the stove, and it is supposed a
defective flue_ was the cause of
the trouble.
The buildiug was owned by B.
B Warren and was a total loss,
but was insured for $400 Very
little household goods was saved,
the fire having gained much
headway before it wa- discov-
ered.

Henry Crenshaw's Hous? 3jrns.
Friday morning an alarm of
fire was given, when it -as dis
covered that the house o Henry
Crenshaw, on East Main street
was in flames. The fir s had
gained such headway before as-
sistance arrived that it was im
possible to do anything towards
saving the building, ab >ut half
the household goods b ing saved.
The house was a total loss no,
insurance being carried.
About $200 was raised by sub-
scription for Mr. Crenshaw.
Dr. Fletcher of Arlie was in
the city Tuesday.
Oscar Canter, a prosperous
voung farmer of Olustee, wal
lere on business the first of the
week. He has purchased a half*
-.ectioii of land near town and he
and family will move to this place
nex t fall.
