TELL US THE CAUSE
If the Constitution-Democrat
would cut out so much sluch about
negro domination and tells us what
evil influence it is that makes a
state senator whoes duty it is to
look after the interest of the whole
people of the county advise the
stuffing of ballot boxes or any oth-
er disreptuable dishonest means
to defeat the will of the people
and kill local self government it
Would be doing more good for civ-
ilization So far as we know there
is only one man in the history of
our county who has taken the
same stand as this state senator
His name was Benidict Arnold
TIME FOR A CHANGE
When a county attorney who is
sworn to uphold the law advises
violation of the law for his own
personal gain it is time to have a
change What think you Mr
Voter?
The original Matinee Girl Musi-
cal Comedy Company owned by
Frank DeAtley is to be seen here
soon
The fact that Manager Thomp-
son has been able to land an at-
traction of such recognized merit
should secure for him the earnest
support of all the show goers of
this city who undoubtedly appre-
ciate the opportunity of witnessing
this high class organization in a
roaring New York success in which
they have scored the biggest hit of
the six seasons of their existence
Pretty girls funny comedians
gorgeous costumes and a scream-
ingly funny musical comedy is what
is to be offered the show lovers of
this city Saturday night Oct 22nd
at the Broadway opera house
A Good Posilion
Can be had by ambitious young
men and ladies in the field of
“Wireless" or Railway telegraphy
Since the 8-hour law became effec-
tive and since the Wireless com-
panies are establishing stations
throughout the country there is a
great shortage of telegrahers
Positions pay beginners from $70
to $90 per month with good
chance of advancement The Nat-
ional Telegraph Institution oper-
ates six official institutes in Amer-
ica under supervision of R R and
Wireless Officials and places all
graduates ‘into positions It will
pay you to write them for full de-
tails at Cincinnati 0 or Philadel

eral deposits Seventeen men
went out from the Oklahoma Uni-
versity and their investigations
were conducted in five states and
territories Most of the parties
nave now broken up and the mem
bers have returned to school but
several are yet in the field Two
of these are working in the coal
fields of Montana an another is in
Colorado 1
The department of Geology is
one of the strongest departments
in the State University and has
sent out its successful graduates
as teachers scientists and speci-
lists to all prrts of America One
reason for the unusual success of
the department is that Oklahoma
has perhaps the richest and most
varied rescources of any state in
the union and these undeveloped
fields afford ideal practical study
and research work for the ambi-
tious student of Geology

Last Friday evening about 6
o’clock J W the little son of Mr
and Mrs V R Butler went into
the pumping house at the water
plant where his father was pump-
ing water to watch the machinery
work while his mother was pre-
paring supper His father left
him there while he came out to fix
the gasoline engine on the outside
that is used in pumping J W
came out to where he was and
struck his foot and fell into the fly
wheel that was running at full
speed and a set screw strucd him
on the top of his head crushing in
the skull in one Diace and cutting
quite a large gash in th9 flesh
Physicians were summened at
once and the wound dressed
While th9 wound was a very se-
vere one it is hoped that it will
not prove serious At this time
the little fellow is getting along
nicely and if unlooked for compli-
cations do not set set in he will be
alright in a few days

Horse Makes Cruise in Air-
ship It has been said and justly that
wonders never cease — for each day
(brings to notico something new—
but it has been left to the propriet-
ors of the large circuses to scheme
and plan invent and produce novel
features thatare beyond the wildest
dreams of the imagination and
accomplish the seeming impossible
When the Airship was recently
perfected it was thought that the
ingenuity of man could devise noth-
ing greater than to make the air
navigable— but it was left for
Dode Fisk to accomplish a still
greater wonder that of sending
horse on a cruise in an airship
It is beyond human belief that
this is done— but one has only to
witness this most sensational of
the world’s greatest triumph of
wonders to be convinces
