Don’t Be Deceived
Knowing that William Jennings
Bryau is dearer to the hearts of the
people of Oklahoma than any other liv-
ing American and that Tuft's foolish
opposition to the Oklahoma constitution
has made him obnoxious to mauy dilu-
tion! a republicans 'lhe tuuiuigers of the
state campaign of that party ary trying
to bide the reel issue aud distract pub
lie atteutiou from the presidential cam-
paign by a flood of malicious canards
attacking the democratic state admis’s-
t ration uud every prominent member
of it The honest democrats of Oklaho-
ma must not lose sight of the fact that
this fall is the first opportunity giveu
them to repay Mr Bryau in part for
his magnificent fnndshipaud assistance
to Oklahoma in her struggle for etute-
hood There is nut one issue in the
present campaign aud tiiat is the elect-
ion of a president of the United States
Otlaioma is democratic und for Brjan
by fifty thousand majority but that
wou’t deliver the electoral vote of Ok-
lahoma to Bryaa if the Oklahoma dem-
ocrats don't go to ttie polls
The Great Postponer
Candidate Taft is maintaining his
reputation as the great postponer
When he came to Oklahoma he told the
people that self government was alright
and we ought to have it some time but
there was ho need of being in a linny
about it and suggested that we vole
down our constitution aud postpone
statehood till some furore time
When he was in the Philippines he
told the litile brown men that indepen-
dents and seif government was iioi
a bud thing but advi-ed them to watt
a generation or two before they tryed to
secure it
When ask his oppinion on the tarriff
Mr Taft thought possibly that it ought
to be revined but he insists that that
revision shall wit till after the prosi-
deuti:il election
On the question of electing senators
by the dirtet vote of the people Mr
Taft in tils letter of exceptnuce says be
is a little inclined to favor it lnt does
not see any necessity for trying to put
the idea in op ration during the present
ceutury
When Mr Bryan ask Mr Taft to co-
operate with him in securing the most
perfect aud nbsoluto pnblicity of cam-
contributions and expenditures Mr
Taft said “1 hat's a good idea a splen-
did one I'll co-oj eiate with you I
will iusist that the republican treasurer
make public all the moneys received by
him and the purpose for which it was
expended — After e ecticn”
Prominent Lawyer Turns Democrat
In a letter addressed to Governor
Hassell Curl Magee of Tulsa declared
that he hud deserted the republican
party and joined the democratic party
tie expressed admiration for the politi-
cal leaderfhlp aud administrative meth-
ods of Goveruer Haskell and his de-
sire to support him Magee asserts thut
be is taking the middle ground between
predati ty wealth aud ‘Ted eyed Social-
ism ' He is dissatified with what he
calls luck of leadership in the Ifepnbli-
t an pr-y The reason giveu by
him for becoming a Democrat is that
he is in favor of the separate conch law
and separate school" the state guaran-
ty law the sale of school lands aud a
