CITIES BRIGHT WITH COLOR
Camaguey and Santiago da Cuba Ara
Especially a Delight to the Eye
of a Painter
Not one of the old Spanish towns of
Cuba but is a source of Inspiration to
a painter" writes Sir Henry Johnston
"Camaguey Is nearly 400 years old as
a Spanish city but it was a place of
Indian settlement for a long antece-
dent period It is the ‘all-white’ town
where the 60000 inhabitants are for
the most part of pure Spanish descent
and the handsomest people in Cuba
No town in Spain is more Spanish or
more picturesque It has narrow
streets projecting balconies scteened
by carved wood or iron grilles tiled
rooms thick walls porticos glowing
with’ sunlit vegetation a sixteenth
and Seventeenth century cathedral
churches chapels monasteries and
convents The steeples and doorways
of some of those churches (and of a

Judge Kelly of the District court of
Ramsey county Minn recently cele-
brated his golden wedding anniver-
sary and on the evening preceding
hg was tendered a banquet by the
Ramsey County Bar association
which waB also attended by the other
members of the district bench the
Justices of the Supreme bench Gov
Johnson and higher state officials
In responding to the toastmaster's
felicitations he stated that only once
in his married life had his wife ques-
tioned one of bis decisions and that
was his recent decision in the “club”
case in which he held that social
clubs might sell liquors to their mem-
bers without a license The judge re-
lated that on arriving home he found
his wife reading the evening paper
She looked up and said: "William
you arewrong about that club case”
“Now perhaps that may be so”
paid the Judge “Why do you think

"Because” said Mrs Kelly “And”

Pleasant for Mr Bennett
William S Bennett a representa-
tive from New York city went to ad-
dress a political meeting In his dis-
trict one night when he was much
younger than he is now
"The chairman” said Bennett "was
a very literal person He looked at
the gallery where one woman was sit
ting and said: ‘Lady and gentlemen
this is a most momentous campaign
There are - grave issues to be dis-
cussed Later we will hear from our
best speakers but for the present we
will listen to Mr Bennett’

ON FOOD
The Right Foundation of Health
Proper food 1b the foundation of
health People can eat improper food
for a time until there is a sudden col-
lapse of the digestive organs then all
kinds of trouble follows
The proper way out of the difficulty
is to shift to the pure scientific food
Grape-Nuts for it rebuilds from the
foundation up A New Hampshire
woman says:
“Last summer I was suddenly taken
with Indigestion and severe stomach
trouble and could not eat food with-
out great pain my stomach was so
sore I could hardly move about' Thi3
kept up until I was so miserable life
was not worth living
“Then a friend finally after much
argument induced me to quit my for-
mer diet and try Grape-Nuts
“Although I had but litttle faith I
commenced to use it and great was
my surprise to find that I could eat
It without the usual pain and distress
in my stomach
“So I kept on using Grape-Nuts and
soon a marked Improvement was
shown for my stomach was perform-
ing its regular work in a normal way
without pain or distress
“Very soon the yellow coating disap-
peared from my tongue the dull
heavy feeling in my head disappeared
and my mind felt light and clear the
languid tired feeling left and alto-
gether I felt as If I had been rebuilt
Strength and weight came back rapid-
ly and I went back to my work with
renewed ambition
“To-day I am a new woman in mind
as well as body and I owe it all to
this natural food Grape-Nuts”

Scald-Like Humor on Her Head
Troublea Cured by Cuticura
“When my little Vivian was about
six months old her head broke out in
bolls She had about sixty in all and
I used Cuticura' Soap and Cuticura
Ointment which cured her entirely
Some time later a humor broke out be-
hind her ears and spread up on to
her head until it was nearly half cov-
ered The humor looked like a scald
very red with a sticky clear fluid com-
ing - from it This occurred every
spring I always used Cuticura Soap'
and Ointment which never failed to
heal It up The last time It broke
out it became so bad that I was dis-
couraged But I continued the use of
Cuticura Soap Ointment and Resol-
vent until she was well and has never
been troubled in the last two years
