at the First Presbyterian church
in Albuquerque the Rev Everett

The bride was given in marriage
by her brother-in-law Mr William
Northcutt Ashville N C She is
the daughter of Mr L S White
and the late Mrs White of Bill-
ings Montana Her father was un-
able to attend because of weather
conditions
She wore the bridal gown worn
by her aunt Mrs Christ Wilker-
eon of Ashville N C at her mar-
riage The gown of white organdy
had a lace top and sweetheart
neckline The waist length veil at-
tached to a small hat was of em-
broidered net She carried a purple
orchid on a white Bible which be-
longed to a friend Miss Frances

the bride was matron of honor She
wore a yellow chiffon gown styled
in an off the shoulder effect and
her flowers were of lavender iris?

tion for the brida couple was held

sorsage of red roses Mr Moreland

After a week’s wedding trip the
couple will be at home at 204 North
Jefferson in Albuquerque
Mr Cunningham who is a son
of Mr and Mrs R W Cunningham
of Treece Kans will enter the Un
iversity next semester to study law
He recently wee separated aa a
captain from the army
The bride will continue to work
at the Sandia base

The Fairland Owls are leading
the Lucky 7 basket ball conference
as of Monday’s standing with a re-
cord of 3 wins and no losses but
are being crowded by three other
teams who have records of 2 wins
and 1 loss they being Chelsa Wy-
andotte and Commerce Afton has
won 1 and lost 1 while Picher and
Quapaw have lost 3 and won none
Some change may be made in the
standings this week as Chelsa will
play Commerce Friday evening On
Tuesday the Tigers played Quapaw
while the Green Dragons of Chel-
sa was taking on the Afton Eagle
at Aifton
The Owls played the Picher
Gorillaa on Tuesday evening on
the Picher court and the game end-
ed Owjs 62 Gorillas 27 Williams
made 11 points
Picher Has “Hot Shot" In Williams
Altho Picher is down in the lea-
gue standing yet the Gorllas have
the hot shot of the conference as
of Monday Bill Williams is leading
the bunch of bucket dunkera with a
total of 64 'points his closest con-
tender is Moseley of Commerce
with 63 and Nuckolls of Wyandotte
with 44
Williams went into the lead with
his sensational 27 points mads in
the Commerce game He amassed
his total by racking up 13 free
throw out of 17 ehaneee and has
a record of 22 baskets and 20 free
throws to his credit

Bodies of 19 district servicemen
of the army and marincorps who
lost their lives in ths South Pacific
area during World War II are a-
