Mrs. Beatrice Byrd Kerr, a long time resident of
Ft. Gibson, passed away Saturday. Mrs. Kerr was
the daughter of Mr. Harold Byrd who used to run
the Byrd’s Drug Store in Ft. Gibson many, many
years, ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Jess Daniels attended the AME
conference Sunday, which was held in Muskogee,
Okla. They enjoyed it all. .
Mr. and Mrs. William Earl are still shut ms also
Mr Robert Reynolds, Mrs. Della Guilford, Mr.
Johnny Irpns, We wish all of them a speedy
•recovery, and a nice Christmas.
Mr and Mrs. William (Big Baby) Collins, of
Phoenix, Arizona, called via Bell Telephone to
express their sympathy to the family of Mrs.
Florence Dennis who was eulogized last Thur-
sday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nivens, of Kansas
City, Mo.; Mrs. Florida Mae Broadway of Los
Angels also extended their sympathy to Mrs.

during the passing of Mrs. Dennis and also would
like to thank the F.M. Branch church for their
kindness shown.
LATE BULLETIN: Mr. Herman MacNac burned
to death in his home Sunday night in Muskogee,
Okla. He is the son of Mr. Edgar, and the late Mrs.
Agnes MacNac of Ft. Gibson. More about it in
next weeks paper.

Rev Eugene Wright, who so graciously high
lighted the Sunday School lesson Sunday Morning
and then delivered a very spicy sermon, was
eniovpd bv all who were present. If you were not
there, you missed a good sermon.
Mrs. M.J. Daniels, Mrs. Caroline Starr Green,
Mrs. Catherine Neal Spigner, Mrs. Willie
Johnson, all attended a very beautiful program at
Four Mile Branch Baptist Church. The Senior
Choir, of which Mrs. ZeUa Nero Wytch is
president, presented the Duke Specials in a very
soul stirring musical and the devotional led by
Deacon Earnest Nero started every one off on th
rght foot. The choir is an integral part of the
church activities. They realize this and therefore
they put on a drive to bring up the low end of their
activity and present the church with contribution.
They raised $112.00 of which the Dukespecials will
be given a donation.
There were many members there to witness the
musical. Mr. Herman Macnac, Mr. Otis Mayfield,
Mr. Wardell Macnac, Mr. Reuben Sallis, and of
course all of the young and old deacons were
present to lend their support. I mentioned these
• young men because I can remember when the
church lack their support. It was a beautiful
scene to see so many young men and women at-

from Joliette, Illinois and the daughter of Mrs.
Elnora Chandler of Joliette.
Ms. Chandler taught music for four years in St.
Louis Missouri and is a member of the Greater
Mount Cannon Baptist Church where she also
directs a chorus of 64 vocalist. She is now a
student of Divinity at Oral Roberts University in
