Cullison has been tested and he’s been there. In today’s political climate,
blacks don’t have many friends, but we need to keep the friends we have.
The senator’s strength is in northeast Oklahoma, TutaCotmty and within
the black community. The black vote was at 17 percent, foe non-bteck vote at
22 percent, while the overall vote in the area was 27 percent South of the
turnpike, where he lost big, the overall vote was 32 percent. Those figtra
suggest that Cullison’s opponent goes into Tuesday’s election with a 5
percent advantage.
But today's election is more a referendum on the black conMnwity dun of

Long flights may ban smoking
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Polls of anime passengers show they favor a
ban of smoking on international flights by more than 2-to-l.
The National Academy of Sciences reports that just four hours in an
aircraft smoking section is equal, in terms of smoke inhaled, to living with
a pack-a-day smoker. Because most of the air in aircraft cabins is
recirculated, the smoke stays; it’s not ventilated outside.
