Dear Ed:
With interruptions I've been read-
ing the "Daily” since G Platz was
a third semester freshman and I
have always taken quite an interest
I in die “li'i" sheet's editorial tiolicy
(when detectable) Clancy Pearce
had a good one
He liatitl the Faculty Senate the
no-car rule the Faculty Senate and
the no-car rule: and lie said so
Pearce didn't say the faculty senate
was no good he said that lie didn't
iike'm not a little bit and that HE
thought they a were bunch of you-know-what's
That's neither here nor there
because now we “gotta” new man
who not only thinks things he
comes right out anil says his way
is the only way This gets us
right down to the reason for all
this
One of your editorial writers
Gill Epiicrson writes up a scenario
In Tuesday's “Daily" called “Who
Will Be Next Aggressor" which is j
a good question even the way he
asks it
Bill Epperson states "Assuming
for the moment that the USA
will be ii noble to solve its eco-
nomic problems by iratinnal meth-
ods which mean public owner-
ship of the instruments cf produc-
tlno and planning for consum-
lion " there' is more: hilt this
is enough Right off Gill makes a
dogmatic statement There must
lie only one method of saving the
land of the fr e and the 'ionic of
the brave frem social chaos Com-
I munism p- cudo-C'ommunism or
j something like it He says tha
yes lie does
I may even ngrec with him
dim!) You may agree with him
Goomvald Platz may agree 1 1 asked
him and in hit me so i don't know
what lie said) Gut the amazing
thing is that Doclof Epperson is
blessed with such clairvnvnnrc that
he can state that this communal
ownership is our white hoe He
states this ns if he were the author- j
itv and' as if his ostul:ite was a
remgnied axiom of pniliical sci-
ence “Taln't” sit Ed lie couldo'l
prove that with 11)31 r-ld iUli
and a barrel of Irndrrlrnf lea
leaves All that lie has done is
express liN ethereal utopian pole

tics as if it were accepted theory
and principle I'll that's not
right Ninrc people have a habit
of believing what they read
whether it is nr is not based on
fa-t these surrealists label their
babblings as fact hoping to sway
the opinions of the readers
This is of course an old “gag
assuming what you are trying to)
prove but it is still dishonest jour-
nalism and not the example that I
should he presented liy a school of
journalism - j
I now suggest to Eppomin's fac- j
ulty adviser that he tie REQUIRED
to enrol in 20 to 30 hours of physics
and chemistry to learn the meaning
of the words “fact" and “fiction"
