Defense Against Cornhusker
Passes Is Airtight in Drills
Freshman Tosses Go
Into Wrong: Hands
Nebraska is going to have a terrible
time trying to complete passes against
Oklahoma here Saturday if practice
is any indication for the Sooner
were batting down and intercepting
Cornhusker passes with the greatest
of ease in Tuesday's workouts
Of course the fact that freshman
backs Jack Jacobs in particular were
throwing the passes with freshman
ends and backs catching them may
have made some difference but the
pass defense looked mighty good
Gene Cbrrotto right winjhack
took particular delight in intercept-
ing the tosses snatching three long
heaves out of the hands of disappoint
ed freshmen
Favor Iatrrrepts Twe
Dick Favor intercepted two and
betted down another while Earl
Crowder Johnny Martin and Otis
Regers intercepted one each
- The red-shirt ed boys were not dis-
heartened however and completed
two long tossee which sailed over the
sooner secondary before calling it a
day
On offense the passing was sharp
with Hugh McCullough and Rogers
hitting the bullseye practically every
toss Bob Seymour and Robert
“Chief” West also were doing some
effective work
Three Teams Work
In dummy scrimmage Stidham had
three teams running plays with the
same eleven which started against
Kansas working as a unit Jim
Thomas' bad knee was much better
but still is expected to be too weak
for him to get Into the Nebraska
game
The first eleven had Hugh McCul-
lough Howard Ttfd” MCsy Bill
Jennings end Earl Crowder' running
in the backfield
In the line were John Shirk and
Roland "Waddy"Young ends Justin
Bowen and Gilford Duggan tackles

who picks Nebraska over Oklahoma
13 to 8
She say “I would lilu- for Okla-
homa to win but I don’t think they
can" This is said with a knowing
tone that suggests she perhaps ha
qualified her prediction merely In
order to get along with her sorority
sister
But all the girls In the Trl Delt
