they weren't looking
Lindsey's resignation had been
turned in to President Blzxell's office

out of a no-decision conference on
the coaching situation
Even Ben Owen director of athlet-
ics said that he was “surprised” by
Lindsey's resignation from his Job as
head football coach

The resignation which wax ad-

cil for recommendations

Dewey Luster may be Indicated Tues-
day when students vote on the ques-
tion of his retention in a special ref-
erendum election called by the men's
council
On the ballots will appear the single
questlou “Do you favor retention of
the present head of the athletic de-
partment?” Hang Petitioned '
Many students and campus organi-
sations have petitioned the council for
the referendum election George Mis-
kovsky president of the council said
Friday He refused to divulge names
of either the individuals or the or-
ganisations asking for the election
Owen when told of the election

the election would have any bearing
on his career as director of athletics
