tion given them by Mrs Roland
Gregory of Waynoka who i3 also
a member of the Club here to
take dinner with her last Wednes-
day evening The following lad-

Shirley They were all very en-
thusiastic in their reports of the
trip and there remains no doubt
but Mrs Gregory is a very ent-
ertaining hostess They were es
corted from the depot to herhome
which was decorated profusedl
with cut flowers whre a six
o’clock dinner was served which
consisted of all the good thing
to eat that we ever heard of In
the evening Mrs Gregory enter
tained them at the opera and at
her home until the midnigt train
brought them back It is the little
things like thi3 that make life
really worth living for who is the
person but a kind act or a symp
athizing word will cause them
a desire to reciprocate and make
others happy

Laurence Lenard Cooley was
born in Smith Center Kansas
March 18 1896 and died October
7 1914 at the age of 18 years 6
months and 19 days Laurence
moved to this county in his earlj
boyhood days and settled in the
Little Wolf district spending the
remainder of his days there Iov
ed and honored by all those whe
had the privolege of knowing
him He attended the Little
Wolf school for a number oi
years then feeling the need of a
higher education he finished hisj
eighth grade work in the Gage
schools and had attended one
year of the Gage High School in
tending to finish the same hac
he not been called home
Laurence joined the Chistiar
church at the age of sixteen and
has since that time lived a pure
consecrated Christian life He
was at the time of his death as-
sistant Superantendent of the
Little Woif Sunday School which
position he filled with credit to
himself and the school He
proved his devotion to hi3 master
to those about him by repeating
the 23rd Psalm without an error
during his last moments Thus

one of the best young men and
che Gage school one of it’s
most eaerjtic students
llis Funeral was preached by
his Pastor Reverend Chamness
to a large audience of sympath-
izing friends ard relatives
Two special songs were sung
one “My Jesus I Love Thee” at
the request of an uncle the other
“ Are You Ready” wa3 the last
selection ! Lauerence made for
the family' to sing only a few
days before the fatal relapse
The remains were laid to rest
in the Gage Cemetary
