CARMEN FENDER COLE
The funeral services of Mrs
Carmen Fender Cole who died
Saturday in the Baptist hospital
at Muskogee were held in the
Methodist church Sunday after-
noon being conducted by Rev
Marshall Dunaway and inter-
ment was in Porter cemetery
Mrs Cole was one of Wagoner
county’s best teachers having
come here from Wooodland
Michigan several years ago to
teach near Porter
She was married to Walton
Cole in April last year and to-
gether they taught the past
term near Wagoner
TOOK BREAKFAST
AT STRAWBERRY
Mr and Mrs H C Carolan
chaperoned a number of young
people including their Sunday
school classs and several invited
friends to Strawberry Hill Sat
urday morning for a six o’clocl
breakfast They left town at 5 in
cars and with plenty of good
things the feast and good time
were much enjoyed

went to W'agoner Sunday to visit
Mr and Mrs J T Johnson

Her short life of 22 years was visit with his wife and baby

this week to the property re-

one worthy of emulation and
high esteem In the school room
she was the embodiment of en-
ergy being faithful to every de-
tail and was loved by all who
knew her especially by the
children in heir charge
Her death is the more sad for
the reason that her baby son
was brought here three weeks
ago for burial and the grief
stricken young husband and rel-
atives have the sympathy of the
entire community
The light of a beautiful Chris-
tian life has gone out from our
midst a lovely character is
transplanted from earth to
heaven and a sweet memory of
the life work of Carmen Fender
Cole will continue to live in the
hearts of those who knew and
loved her

Mrs J R Moody entertained
the ladies of the Embroidery
Club Friday afternoon She was
assisted in entertaining and
serving by Miss Aileen Moody
Vivian Gilbert gave several se-
lect readings The club mem-
bers also Mrs Anna Ingram of

A Neil and J T Gates were
guests At the close of the af-
ternoon cream and cake were
served
