Mae Marsh who will be starred in the Fine Arts-Trianglc
play "Hoodoo Ann” was born In Madrid New Mexico Nov 9
1895 Her family moved to San Francisco the year before the
earthquake Their house was demolished and all their belong-
ings destroyed and Miss Marsh herself had a narrow escape
Following the example of her sister Miss Marsh started under
the Griffith management at Los Angeles After some small
parts she obtained the part of Mary' the lead In "Sands o’
Iee" Then followed the role of Lily White In “Man’s Gene-
sis" She is especially remembered for her fine characteriza-
tion as the little sister In Griffith’s “Birth of a Nation"
