A. B. Erickson, 54. former electrical
en'hneer and native Oklahoma Cityan,
was found dead Thursday night in his
home at 114 W Washington. His death
was caused by a heart attack, and he
w->s believed to have been dead since
Sunday.
"rickson was born in Oklahoma
City and waa the eon of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John Erickson, Abers. He
att»nded schools here, graduating
fr~m Central highschool in 1912.
In 1917. he was graduated from
tt* University of Oklahoma, Norman,
where he majored In electrical engi-
neering. On the OU campus he was
well-known as “Swede" Erickson. He
was a member of Sigma Tau, honorary
engineering fraternity.
Frickson was noted for his valuable
collection of rare books. He had spent
a lifetime collecting the many first
editions tn his library and had well
over 3.000 volumes. Among his col-
lection were the first editions of Poe’s
“Tales and Poems" and Longfellow's
“Poema,"
During World war X, he served in
England in the airforce. Returning to
the United States, he accepted a posi-
tion with a utility company in We-
woka and was there in 1937 when the
oil boom swept Seminole.
Along with his work as an electrical
engineer, he was sn oil Investor. For
Hbout 10 years Erickson was employed
by the Oklahoma Oa* & Electric Co.
here. He helped organise the Green
Hills Golf course, and at the time of
his death, still retained an Interest
in the course. He waa a member of
the American Legion and the First
Baptist church. Erickson U survived
by * daughter. Mrs. Frank Simpson.

Owners Deny
U. S. Charges
Two truck line owners and a man-
ager sued in federal court here early
this week by the Interstate Commerce
Commission for violation of ICC rules
were unable to reach federal court Fri-
day morning to plead before Judge
Stephen Chandler.
However. Ralph Wert*, a contract
carrier at Lawton. and Edward O. ,
Gibbs, manager of the Fairmont
Poods Co. at Lawton for whom Werts
delivered products in interstate com-
merce sent word to Robert E. Shelton.
U. S. district attorney, that they de-
sired to plead innocent. There were
13 alleged violations of ICC regula-
tion in the information against the
'two men.
The ICC also filed a 10-county in-
formation against the Pat H. Riddle
Truck lines. 15 8W 29. alleging viola-
tions of ICC rules. The first count
charges Riddle with having hauled
building materials from Oklahoma
City to Gunnison, Colo., without hav-
ing first obtained an ICC permit for
interstate transportation. The remain-
ing count charges that Riddle com-
pelled his driven to drive trucks ex-
cessive hours.
Riddle neither appeared nor sent
any word. Shelton struck the case
from Friday’s arraignment docket and
Riddle will be arraigned later.

the bank, bonds of about 393,000, with
total assets of 9429.7M.
Most of the profit of the company
this year, must, under the state in-
surance law be held as a reserve for
payment for claims. The firms offi-
cers announced that they were vol-
untarily reducing their salaries to help
establish the company more rapidly.
