More Exports
CHICAGO, May 24—(>F)—All grains
encountered good support Saturday
following overnight announcement of
supplemental grain export allocation,
to food deficit areaa abroad. Lard ad-
vanced on buying traced to eastern
commission houses.
Further support was given wheat on
reports of widespread rains oyer the
southwest. Heavy rains were predicted
for parts of the Texas panhandle Sat-
urday night. Traders said the moisture
was not wanted at this time because
of the possibility of rust damage.
Wheat closed %«Mttc higher. July

er. July 81.76*.*1.76%, and oats were
’> to 1-cent higher. July 80%*8fl%c.
Lard closed 25 to 65 cents a hundred
pounds higher, July 820.45.
Lard Market Strong
Lard started out strong after Its
limit jump of 82 a hundred pounds
Friday. Prices were 68 to 80 cents
higher near the end of the first hour,
July 820.80.
Buying of lard late Friday and early
Saturday was based on rumors that
export allocations may be removed on
this product, permitting larger quan-
tities to go abroad in case foreign
countries want lard. There has been
no official confirmation of such
rumors.
The agriculture department over-
night announced an increase in June
allocations to Germany totaling 5.600,-
000 bushels of grain and grain
products.
Other Allocations Noted
In addition, the department an-
nounced supplemental a 11 o c a 11 ons
amounting to 15,500.000 bushels to
other countries and canceled 1,500.000
bushels of previous allocations.
Additional allocations to countries
other than Germany had already been
known by the grain trade for the moot
part, and the agriculture department
said most of these increases will be
filled from stocks already purchased by
the government.
The increased German allocation
will be made up of wheat and wheat
flour. Barlier this week the department
