SOME NEW LAWS RELATING TO
SCHOOLS
Senate Bill No 167 passed by the
1919 Session of the Legislature pro-
vides for School Attendance Officers
as follows: “In cities or incorporat-
ed towns the Board of Education shall
appoint and shall fix and provide for
the payment of the salary of one or
more truancy officers whose duty it
shall be to enforce the provisions of
this article in the manner provided
herein and for school districts out-
side of incorporated cities and towns
a truancy officer shall be appointed
by the County Superintendent of
Public Instruction ol the county who
shall receive lour dollars per day for
each and every day ol actual and nec-
essary service whose salary shall be
paid by 'the Board of County Com-
missioners as the salaries of other
county officers are paid"
House Bill No 227 fixes salary for
deputy County Superintendent as fol-
lows: Counties with a population of
less than Twenty Thousand appoint
a deputy as a monthly Salary of Fifty
Dollars ($5000) population of Twen
ty Thousand to Thirty Thousand ap
ipoint a deputy at a monthly salary-
of Seventy-Five Dollars ($7500) pop-
ulation of Thirty Thousand and more
the salary shall be One-Hundred Dol-
lars ($10000) per month
House Bill No 371 amends Section
75 1917 School Laws and requires the
County Superintendent to furnish and
provide each teacher under his super-
vision each yeqr sufficient registers
and report cards for the needs of the
district and shall have authority to
require their use which forms shall
bd uniform and be those adopted for
the entire state
