MARIETTA
OKLAHOMA
To The Citizeps of Carter and
Love Counties:
In announcing my candidacy
for the office of District Judge
of Carter and Love Counties I
will state that I am 39 years
old I was born and reared
near Marion Kentucky and
lived there all my life until I
came to this country in 1908
making me a citizen of this
State for ten years during all
of which timeI have lived in
Ardmore and have been en-
gaged in the practice of law
until three and a half years
ago when ' I was nominated
and elected County Judge of
Carter County Oklahoma
which position I now hold
My record as County Judge
is known to the people of Car-
ter County and it is upon this
record that I ask promotion to
the office of District Judge
That I have made'goo4 as a
judge of Carter County I sub-
mit to the honest judgment of
every citizen who is familiar
with my record as County
Judge and who have had busi-
ness in and connected with the
County Court and on their
judgment and my record I so-
licit the support of the voters
of this District in this race I
have been a practicing attor-
ney for sixfeen years My ab-
ility as a lawyer is also known
to most people in this state and
especially in this District and
I shall abide by their judg-
ment as to whether or not I
am qualified to perform the
duties of the office of District
Judge
I do not believe that any
man should be elected to of-
fice because of the disqualifica-
tions of his opponent but that
he should receive considera
tion from the voters of this
District on his own qualifica-
tions and fitness for the office
It i? the ambition of my life to
be elected to this office and
make the people of this district
the best District Judge they
have ever had and with the
assurance on my part that I
shall put forth every possible
effort to enforce the laws of
this state as far as it is within
the powers of the District
Judge to enforce them fairly
and impartially to every' citi-

jmy life I believe in the prin-
ciples of that great political
party' that a democracy guid-
jed and controlled by the faith-
ful members of this party will
rebound to the greatest good
to the largest number of the
American people I believe
that every man is entitled to
his own view along political
lines and I concede him that
right and the man or set of
men of any other political or-
ganization shall receive the
same fair and unbiased treat-
ment in my court as though
he or they were a member or
members of the political party
to which I belong Politics
has no place in the court

conduct my court if elected

in the past so that no man can
justly criticise me on that ac-
count I appeal to every citizen of
