BRIDGES ALL RE-PLACED
Tho county commissioners
have had all kinds of road and
bridge troublo recently Tho
heavy rain ''about three weeks
ago washed out a number of
bridges and at tho time it was
thought that it would be several
months before the damage would
be repaired but the commission-
ers of Love county are a persist-
ent and hard working bunch
who are desirous of procuring
better roads and bridges for the
county and are doing all in their
power with that object in view
We attended their meeting
Tuesday and were informed that
all the bridges that had been
washed out during tho heavy
raius had been p replaced with
the exception of one and at the
meeting this week the contract
was awarded for that one Be-
sides all the trouble that the
rain and washouts caused the
commissioners by removing
bridges along comes the circus
with the big elephant and breaks
down the approhch to the bridge
across Hell-Roaring creek ik
manager of the circus paid 15
to th commissioners as dam-
ages to the bridge

' OIL ACTIVITY IN LOYE COUNTY
Heretofore all tho operations
In Love county have been on the
west sido of the county but
aince the erection of the pipe line
from tiie Ilealdton field to Gainesville-
which passes through
the east side of the county oil
men and big oil companies are
turning their attention to that
section and the prospects are
good for three test wells on
the west side operations on all
three to begin within tho next
three months Naturally devel-
opment would follow a pipe line
and the geological surveys issued
by tho government and opinions
of geoiists employed by private
concerns designate all the west
side of the county line north of
Oswalt to the south boundary
north of Marysville Texas as
probable oil territory Within
the past three weeks lease men
representing large oil companies
and some who are procuring
leases for speculative territory
have been busy securing leases
in the west part ot Love county
and those in position to know say
that there will be as many as
three tests In Love county in
the next few months '
