The Kansas City Journal
in its special write up of

patronized the metropolitian
sheet good and strong but
some people will never learn
to invest their money in

up with halftones and biogra-

edition is a credit to West-

Judge Freeman of Chi-

men are hanged but the
number is not nearly so large
as that of the guilty men who
escape” If this was con-
ceded for the negro popula-

Dragging Pains
eley —
Chicago Iii Oct 2 1902
I Buffered with falling’ and con-
gestion of the womb with severe
pains through the groins I suf-
fered torribly at the time of men-
struation bad blinding headaches
and rushing of blood to the brain
What to try I knew not for it
seemed that I had tried all and
failed but I had never tried Wins
of Cardui that blessed remedy for
sick women 1 found it pleasant
to take and soon knew that I had
tbs right medicine New blood
seemed to course through my Veins
and after using eleven bottles I
was a well woman
Vaom-L
Mrs Bush is now in perfect
health because she took Wins of
Cardui for menstrual disorders
bearing down pains and blinding
headaches when all other remedies
failed to bring her relief Any
sufferer may secure health by tak-
ing Wine of Cardui in her home
The first bottle convinces the pa-
tient ehe is on the road to health

There should be some in-
creased activity here in the
course of a short time That
the town of Grove is under-
laid with mineral is no guess
work but facts and only a
few months hence and our
assertion with hundreds of
others will be verified The
future of Grove is almost assured
A report from Wewoka
last Friday the Seminole
capital says that at a meet-
ing of the Seminole council
acting governor Jacob Har-
rison has been impeached said act and thata Delaware-
and ex-Governor John M
Brown unanimously elected
to his place Brown was the
first in the Indian Territory
to effect a treaty between the
government and the Indians
The Indian Territory
and mineral fields will no
doubt be in control by a
single corpoi’ation within a
short time but this will
probably e the means of de-
veloping our resources and
we’ll know in what quanity
mineral and oil exists
Everybody is aware of the
quality which is first-class
Conditions need investigat-
ing for development is and
has been at a standstill It
will take millions of dollars
to thoroughly develop the
wonderful resources of the
Indian Territory and let
everybody give the capitalists
the glad hand of welcome
Make him feel he is at home
when he happens into your
midst plainly state what
you know regarding con-
ditions of importance
Drive him around and show
him place the real specimens
of mineral into his hand and
then leave the matter to him
Capitalists are liable to hap-
pen into Grove any old time

MAY SELL THEIR
IMPROVEMENTS
A Ruling Which has Spec-
ial Bearing on the
Dick Adams Case -
The Dawes Commission
have been informed by act-
ing Secretary Ryan that' in
the matter of the sale of Del-aware-Cherokee
improve-
ments that the Secretary of
the Interior acting on an
opinion rendered by the
Assistant Attorney General
of the United States holds
that a Delaware f who made
or was in rightful possession
on April 191904 of improve-
ments by purchase at any
time prior to that date from
one rightfully in possession
of such improvements is
entitled to sell them under
Cherokee may choose his al-
lotment outside the lands
upon which his improve-
ments are located but if he
does he must eliminate from
the improved - lands lands
equivalent to those he takes
as nn allotment This rul-
ing has a special bearing on
the Dick Adams and similar
cases

A MISTAKE
Prohibition Tor the Indian
Territory in the event of
statehood is entirely feasible
and much to bo desired by a
very large and intelligent
majority of the people of the
territory In addition it may
be stated that the - President
and both houses of congress
are willing and anxious to
give us prohibition in our
coming state constitution If
we don’t get what we want it
will be on account of mis-
management of the anti-liquor
forces in the territory
The church federation organ-
ized last year and W C T
U have both fallen into the
unpardonable error of link-
ing the fortunes of prohibi-
tion with that of separate
statehood for the Indian Ter
ritory This is exceedingly
unfortunate for it links the
fortunes of statehood with
that of impossible statehood
and runs the risk of spoiling
the chances of that which
should be easy enough of
realization To say that we
will have no statehood ex-
cept separate statehood for
the Indian Territory is the
sort of folly that comes from
lack of intelligence as to con-
ditions and sentiment in the
two territories and the atti
tude of congress towards
early statehood In the first
place separate statehood is
not possible for so many
reasons that it is useless to
enumerate The next ses
sion of congress is going to
give statehood— single state-1 nm'
hood to the two territories
and we are very foolish if we
allow a good prospect for
prohibition to be spoiled by
a few wild-eyed politicians to
commit the friends of pro
hibition to a particular brand i port Arthur Ex No i Lv 8:57 p m
