The first Thursday of each month
was devoted to business the' second
and third to embroidery and physi-
cal culture and the fourth to liter-
nrv using miscellaneous programs
The first year book was published
in 1909-10 with a membership of
16 ladies and containing the miscel-
laneous programs During the year
the membership was extended to 20
and still later was increased to 25
In 1911 thd physical culture was
dispensed with and the first and sec-
ond meetings were devoted to needle
work and the third and fourth to
literary In 1912 the club was fed-
erated with the State Federation of
women's clubs and at this time the
Bay View Course of Study was
adopted and has been continued until
the present time with the exception
of one year when the study of bible
characters was used
The study at the present time we
feel to be very helpful being Amer-
ican Reconstruction Problems The
social or play hour of the club has
not been neglected for “what is so-
cial company but a babbling Summer
stream”
It has been the custom for the club
to give a reception to the teachers
at the opening of school an evening
with our husbands at Thanksgiving
time a reception honoring the grad-
uates of the City High School and
an annual affair including members
This year it will be in the nature
of an open house at the home of
Mrs G A Howe St Patricks Day
(NOTE — Tomorrow this bit of
history of the Home Culture Club
will be continued with a review of
the accomplishments of the club —
