Duncan Will Have Session If the Conference Report Is
J' Adopted and Assurance Is Given That It
Will be at an Early Date
Special to The Dallas News
Washington May 26 — Duncan Wilburton Bartlesville and Tul-
sa will be made court towns if the conference report on the Indian
appropriation bill should be adopted which of course it will The
report was made to the house today After giving further consider-
ation to the question the conferees concluded they had no authority
to strike out provisions that had been agreed to by both houses and
thus the plan to dispose of the court town problem in the statehood
bill was interfered with ' '

The postoffice department is
sending out the following instruct-
ions to carriers on rural routes:
On and after July 1 1906
patrons of the rural delivery
service will be requested to dis-
play signals on their boxes when
they leave mail in them for
carriers to collect as after that
date earner when serving their
routes will not be required to
open and examine any mail boxes
except those to which they have
mail to deliver and those on which
signalsf-aredisplayed V indicate
there is mail for carriers to
collect
Those patrons whose boxes are
not provided -with signals must
attach thereto some device which
when displayed will plainly show
passing carriers there is mail to be
collected It is not necessary that
such device 6hall be either com-
plicated or costly a very simple
arrangement will answer the
purpose
Carriers must lower the signals
on boxes after making collections
provided no mail is left therein
and must display the signals when
they deposit mail for patrons un-
less patrons have made request to
the contrary

Minstrel Show Given by the
Eagles Last Night Was a
Big Succeaa
The minstrel show given at the
opera house last night by the loc-
al aerie of Eagles for the benefit
of their order was well attended
and was worth the price In fact
it was one of the best amateur
shows ever put on here Every-
thing went as if they were profess-
ionals '
The curtain went up with the
whole company singing “Bear
dem Bells’' and there was some-
thing doing every minut of the
time until the final curtain hours
later
The first part consisted of songs
with chorns by the company all of
which were good and were heart-
ily applauded The second part
or olie was made up of ft little of
everything in the way of special-
ties H E Burt made a hit' with
his chascoal Crusoe— A Ml
Crooke and N B Hunnicutt
caught the crowd with their wire-
less hear-aphone Ernest Burton
and Frank Russel burnt up a lot
of “Hot Air” and N B Hunni-
cutt did a little “plain foolishness”
Charlie Rose and Dr Warren as
Uncle Eph and Aunt Dinah were
the real thing as old time darkies
Frank Courcier as Sam the coon
shooter was fine
The show wound up with “A
warmin’ np in Dixie” and it was a
warmin’ up every body took a
part Owing to a misunderstand
ing the drill which was to have
been given by twelve young ladies
was omitted
A nicer cleaner show has never
been given in Chickasba and re-
flects credit on the gentlemen who
participated in it as well as the
fraternal order of Eagles A nice
sum was realized that will go to-
wards furnishing their lodge
rooms in to which they will move
the coming week— Express

Twelve Carloads of Lumber
Some idea of the size of the
hull and seed house of the oil
mill may be understood when it
is known that twelve carloads of
lumber will be used in its con-
struction Seven carloads arrived
last week and the other shipment
is now enroute The building
will be 120x400 feet with a pe-
tition separating the seed from
the hulls
This enterprise is a feather in
Duncan’s cap and an institution of
incalcnlable worth to the entire
country It will be especially
profitable to the farmers
