' Minister Christian Chnrolr-
'’”T A
Murray L Wagner has said that one
of the glorlef of the Scriptures lies in
its timeless application and certainly
this Is true We can take some great
lessons from them if we only will For
example Jeremiah observed in his
days many situations which can be
very closely paralled In our time! Pub-
lic officials were unconcerned about
public and individual welfare priests
thought more about ther share of the
offerings than about their etas and
merchants flaunted their false weights I Home WaKer’i death was unexpected
and short measures 1 I as he had been in apparent good
Apparently Jeremiah hoped that the health when la town Tuesday night
sMMsi Mkaaa eienli helniv namvla I
harvest season would bring the people
back to God In thanksgiving for His
abundant mercy hut when that time
came the prophet complained that
"the harvest 1 past the summer Is
ended and we are not saved” (Jer
8:20)-Surrounded by their - enemies
busying themselves with their pleasur
es and business the people were sowing
for a different kind of harvest
Today we find 'ourselves promising
to do great thing for God and His
church “after harvest” we country
folk can say "After harvest we’ll have
more time to stag the songs to Zion
more time to visit the sick neighbor
more time to study to show ourselves
approved more time to grow But now
must fill our silos we must get the
ground ready for sowing the wheat
must fatten our steers finish off
poultry get in the winter fuel
and then we’ll attend to our spiritual
needs But THEN the words may have
concluded: "the harvest le past and we
are not saved” We’ll be lost!
It Is often said by elderly people
that ministers 1 today do not preach
enough concerning - heaven and hell
and perhaps they are right Surely we
are all aware of the fact that one Is
either saved or lost depending upon
his relationship tb Jesus as the Christ
Please dont overlook this aspect of
your life It Is the most Important See
you In church next Sunday O Kl
