it a capital idea to mention him
once more
The Democrat press bureau

of 50 cents as has Iron stated by
some of the Sodalist candidates

County of Dewey )
W A Reekie Republican candidate for Sheriff of Dewey county being
first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says that he has read the article
n the Taloga Advocate of October 22nd 1914 in which affiant is charged
with having promised one Wave Allen that he would appoint him the said
Wave Allen as unJer-sheriff in the event of the election of affiant as Sheriff
of said county
Affiant further states that the insinuations in said article are wholly false
and without any foundation in fact that affiant has neither directly nor in
directly promised or agreed to appoint the said Wave' Allen or any other
person either as under-sheriff or deputy
Affiant furtherstates that he has never had any conversation with the
said Wave Allen or with any friends or "persons acting for said Wave Allen
with reference to the matter of appointment of said Wave Alien to any
position on the sheriff’s force
Affiant further says that said article was written and published with the
base and malicious purpose of deceiving the voters of Dewey county and of
securing the vote for the Democrat opponent of affiant

Now Ilarry Smith I have answered your question and
will place my affidavit in the hands of the County Clerk
In view of the fact that rumors have been circulated
that lVrry Skelton would appoint Boone Johnson as under-
sheriff or deputy if elected we demand that l’erry Skelton
make affidavit that he has not promised to appoint said
Boone Johnson as under-sheriff or deputy and that he will
not in case of his election appoint said Boone Johnson as
under-sheriff or deputy or that he will be connected with
the sheriff’s office in any manner and that said affidavit be
deposited with the County Clerk IF J Reekie
