TO HELP ESTABLISH
CREDIT FORFARMERS
Five Ways Have Been Planned For Farm-
er To Enlarge Credit By Superin-
tendent Demonstration Farms
—Own Silos and Plant
Feed Crops
Acting on the principle that it does
not do any good to formulato an agri-
culturally progressive propoganda
without soino cflicient means to make it
become effective Superintendent Marie
Wpodson of the state demonstration
farm department has devised and is
executing a novel method to make such
' improvements as scientific culture soil
conservation crop rotation and crop
variety realities in the fertile state of
Oklahoma
He is now having printed 25000
posters which be will distribute among
the bankers and merchants of the state
with requests to post them in some con-
spicuous place in their business houses
These posters will explain five differ-
ent ways by which farmers can have
their credit enlarged by all the way
from 10 to -50 percent at these places
as follows:
1st By owning and operating a
cream separator -2nd
By owning and operating a
silo
' 3rd By planting one-fifth of their
farm acreage in feed crops
4th By planting more than four
representative crops
5th By following instructions of the
board of agriculture experiment sta-
tion ’ v
Supt Woodson delivered an address
on the plan at the meeting of the Mus-
kogee District Bankers and Wholesale
Grocers’ association on June 8 the re-
sult of which was that the body voted
unanimously taendorse the movement
and td lend it ml tnwL-a selstwV e— IhiM-iMsa
Southern District Bankers"and Whole-
sale Grocers’ association which will
meet at Durant Okla July first has
invited the superintendent to deliver
an address on the plan as has also the
association of the northern district
which is to meet at Vinita Okla on
Tuesday July 2 It is expected that
these associations will endorse the plan
enthusiastically as did the one at Mus-
kogee that the individual members
or
will take the posters and paste them up
in their places of business and that by
July 15 50000 eastern Oklahoma farm-
ers will have become cognizant of a
method whereby thoy can increase their
credits by comfortable margins
Of Practical Benefit
It is believed that' the plan will bo
of much practical benefit to the farm-
ers themselves as almost any farmer
can apply at least one of the five pro-
visions and in most instances more than
one But the superintendent regards
this as merely incidental to the -vast
development it will lend to the agncul-
tural interests of the state
If a farmer knows that be can double
his credit by owning and operating a
silo he will be strongly induced to in-
stall one and once this is done the an-
nual valuation of the feedstuff raised
on his farm has increased 25 percent
If every farmer in the state should fol-
low his example the value of Oklaho-
ma’s annual production will have been
enhanced by $10000000
The same ratio of crop value enhani-
ment would prevail if every farmer
owned and operated a cream separator
and almost the Bnrae ratio if every far-
mer followed either one of the other
three provisions It is the belief of the
department that within 12 'months
among all these suggestions the far-
mers of Oklahoma will have adopted a
sufficient number to be equivalent to
every farmer in the state adopting one
of them This would amount to an en-
hancement of $10000000 in the annual
production of Oklahoma farm crops
Since making the Muskogee address
over 100 Oklahoma bankers and whole-
salers have written Supt Woodson for
the posters and state that they will
tack them up in their places of busi-
whieMndicates thattheqlai for
increasing Oklahoma ‘agricultural pro-
duction features has already been most
favorably inaugurated

have just closed a deal with the Fin-
ley Musical Comedy Co to play here

carry twelve people and come highly
recommended each and every one be-
ing an artist in his or her line of

When you can see a musical comedy
company ot twelve people in addition
to the regular program of pictures for
ten cents you ought to give this place
your patronage Some "people thinx
it strange that shows of this class can
