past week and the timbers fire be-

terial is the property of Hudson-
Houston Lumber Co The Bison

was held at her coronation

Her sister Miss Rubye now Mrs
Paul Lynch was chosen as May
Queen while attending the same

Mr and Mrs J E Morris
came in Tuesday afternoon from
Southern Texas where they have
been the past three months
They spent the time at Aransas
Pass Corpus Christ! Brownsville
and v visited numerous other
points Mr Morris says they en-
joyed the trip but that the winter
was unusually cold in Texas this
year
After March 1st we will occupy
the building formerly occupied by
City barber shop located first
door west of Wheeler hotel

were tom down this week adding
to the looks of the street The
buildings had not been used for
several years Now if the Find-
ley old building which burned
could be cleared of debris the
appearance of this part of the
street would be improved
W L Tuck deputy sheriff was
called to Wilson Okla last week
by the death of his brother A H
Tuck aged 50 years who died
suddenly Feb 19th Rupturing
a blood vessel while loading lum-
ber on a wagon was given as the
cause of his death The deceased
i9 survived by a wife and ten
children four of whom are mar-
ried He also leaves four broth-
ers and one sister Burial was at
Wilson last Thursday

S H Wilson is in the receipt of
a letter from an old time Davis
oy Hugh Reynolds who is in
he U S naval air station at
Pearl Harbor T H In his let-
ter Hugh says he has less than
three years to do for retirement
with pension He expresses a like
or the navy and says he prob-
ably will live in China when he
retires as he has interests there
and likes the Orient He is a
step-son of E J Henderson and
ived here in his young days He
hasn’t been in Davis in 10 years
Birthday Party
In response to invitation from
little Miss LaNelda Price twenty-
seven little folks were present at
her fourth birthday party given
Saturday Feb 22
After hearing the story of
George Washington the little folk
enjoyed cutting leaves and put-
ting on the cherry tree then
hanging the cherries on the
branches of the tree and finding
hatchets to cut the tree And
other games were played also
Many nice gifts were brought
that caused great excitement for
the little hostess h '
Refreshments of ice cream and
popcorn were served The favors
were pictures of the little hostess
concealed within a red white and
blue folder
As each one got ready to go
home he or she was blind folded
and reached for a balloon and the
one touched was taken out and
given to the one touching it
Everyone seem to enjoy the
party so much
