cCradey and Constable John Frank-
lin Raided the 1 17 17 Hang-out at the
Stock Yardo Tuesday
Last Sunday Marshal Enteriine of Nash brought
conclusive evidence that I W W's were making their
temporary headquarters in Jet Constable John Franklin
got in touch with Sheriff J R McCradey and Tuesday
Sheriff McCradey and County Attorney Walt Owen came
to Jet and raided the I W W's at the stock yards
at 2:30 p m The men were searched and on their per-
son was found I W W credentials to organize also I
W W red cards an I W W newspaper and other I
W W literature Sheriff McCradey thought he had a
warrant lor one 01 tne men ana uonsiaDie r ranKiin was
about to lock the hancuffs on him when County Attorney
Owen intervened and instead ordered them to leave the
county within 24 hours and left it to Franklin to see
that his orders were complied with Wednesday evening
Constable Franklin reported that they had left town
It is reported that 25 or 30 1 W W's are work-
ins in this vicinity Constable Franklin said "If any of
them think they are going to make this vicinity their
happy hunting grounds they are going to wake up in jail

IN KANSAS?
Farmers in Kansas are blaming
the L W W's for recent barn fires
It is known they use an incendiary
capsule wbich contains a nitro
glycerine solution whioh is set off
by acid The acid is placed on the
capsule which explodes 12 hours
later By that time the Bolshevik
fire bug is a hundred miles away
Two-cent postage on letters and
one-cent on post cards go into effect
after July 1
One of tbe agencies to be used In the
United States In combatting the I W
W Red and Non-Partlsan League
movement will be the American Legion
composed of men who have served
their country during the World War
of which several posts have been or-
ganized in Kansas
Federal officers from Kansas City
have been stationed at the troublesome
centers and it is either work or move
on for the I W Ws
Oil Derrick Dismantled
The oil derrick southeast of Jet has
been removed to the southern part of
Oklahoma The superintendent on the
job said it will be a long time before
another test hole will be put down in
this vicinity However he felt sure
there is oil around Jet
