CREAM TRADEJS INCREASING
Tuesday morning a representa-
tive of the News was in L L
Rebman’s store and found Mr
Rebman busy testing cream which
he had bought from the farmers
of this vicinity We are told that
the cream industry is in its infancy
in this section and is rapidly in-
creasing as fast as the farmers
learn the worth of this side issue
to them Last week Mr Rebman
paid out $20934 for cream which
contained 982 pounds of butter
fat The price paid ranged from
20 to 22 cents per pound “
It will pay any fanner that has
one or more cows to go and talk
with Mr Rebman and find out
how much advantage it will be to
produce cream for the market

i P'S BUSINESS INCREASING
At a trial the first of last week
Justice of the Peace C E Guthrie
remarked that his docket was not
so full but that the plaintiff and
defense could take all the time
they wanted to try their case but
a few days has changed the work
in his office and Charlie is now be-
coming very proficient in assessing
fines and jail sentences
Matt Jones and Boots Jeffres
caught Henry Wilson Jimmie
Samuels and Alfred Dozer negroes
in Montgomery’s orchard near
town Sunday gambling When
the officers came upon them Henry
was unable to control himself- and
his first impulse was to move' as
the sight of the cannons pointed
toward him made him give one
big jump and his knee struck the
face of one of his companions
with such force that the negro
took the count One of the
negroes says he wants to go on
the road gang just to get the
expedience
Jack Hill negro was taken be-
fore ’Guthrie last week on a charge
of vagrancy and was given 30
days with the road gang
' Boots Jeffres and Bailey Wilson
caught two negroes Wm Wilson
and Shep Thompson in the back
of Mosier’s barber shop Sunday
morning playing poker
Boots Jeffres caught Earnest
Dudgeon Frank Griffin and Jack
Smith a negro in the basement
under Davis’ pool hall last Friday
afternoon playing poker They
were arraigned before Guthrie and
plead guilty to the charge and
were forced to pay $1150 into the
town treasury
