DEATH ON°THE HIGHWAYS
The following is a splendid editorial written by Sue Ann
Sieben. sixth grade pupil of the Kellyville schools, on alcohol
and highway hazards:
Ore of the worst hazards of the road is a drunken driver.
Every year thousands of peop'e lose their lives because some driver
can't resist poisoning his mind and body with alcohol. Why a
man will risk the possibility of taking the life of some innocent
person remains unanswerable.
Can it be that he doesn’t realize how dangerous the effect of
alcohol can be; or is it that he thinks the effect of the alcohol on
him is worth any possible risk he may be taking?
People who are interested in safety on the highways should
try to get a law passed that would take away the license of any
peison convicted of drunken driv ng.
I a child, make this pica for myself and other children who
love life. Please think of us as more important and necessary
than the false courage obtained from alcohol.
