Trojans run by Bluejackets
By Hie Herald Staff
OILTON — No one is sure
whether it was a basketball game
or a track meet, but the Kiefer
Trojans downed Coyle 98-76 in the
opening round of the Oilton In-
vitational basketball tournament
Monday night.
“It was a pretty fast game,”
said Kiefer coach Dan Bennett.
“We tried to press them at first
and they were so quick we
couldn’t keep up, so we changed
defenses and slowed them up
some.
“In the second half, we got
some steals that we turned into
baskets and opened the game up
some," he said.
After one quarter of play the
Trojans trailed Coyle 22-20, but
the change in defensive strategy
netted Kiefer a 46-36 halftime
lead.
