The Katy Railroad has agreed
with the City of Muskogee that
trains should not block crossings
more than 10 minutes at a time,
with two exceptions.

To Catch Elephant

BATE8VILLE, Ark., May 5
—UP— The city dogcatcher
corralled s stray elephant
Tuesday and commented that
it was the "biggest thing I'VE
ever done.”
The residents of this North-
east Arkansas city were up la
arms that the job wasn't done
until the animal had trampled
their flowerbeds.
The elephant belongs to t cir-
cus that was ready to roll on to
another town, unaware that It
was missing.
Noel Mobley looked out his
window and saw the beast
grazing in his back yard.
“Like to scared me to
death," Mobley said. He tele-
phoned dogcatcher Frank
Crowell
My wife was frightened and
didn't want me to go after it,”
Crowell said. "But I told her
that would be the biggest thing
I've ever done in this Job and
that 1 was going to do It."
Crowell took along a wooden
stick as his only weapon and
poked the pachyderm in the
ribs to get him moving.
"Then I Just led him by the
snout and rook him back to the
circus,” Crowell said.
