murdering three negro children
and wounding their hither and

wipe out all witnesses to an arm-

The hunt centered around Guln

This is probably one of the lush-
es: and most distinguished honor
Whicn could be bestowed upin a
high school band. Each year only
20 bands from over the United
8tates are choten by special invi-
tation to takek part and last year
the only band in Oklahoma to re-
ceive an invitation was Oklahoma
City's Classen high school.
William D Revelli. director of
Michigan university bands will be
guest adjudicator and conductor for
the occasion. All of the partici-
pating bands will perform concert
music in the presence of guest ad-
judicators and conductors who will
give constructive criticism to each
band group.
In regard to the invitation Garth
Blake, director of the local band
had this to say: "I feel that this Is
certainly the most distinguishing
honor that could be bestowed upon
the Sapulpa hlgii school b«nd I
am sure that the students will meet
the challenge in such a way that
will not only bring high regard to
their organization but to the entire
high school as well."
