the master meter, which adjust-

The local fire department was
called out last night to the borne
of E W. Redding, at 1306 East
McKinley to extinguish a fire
that started from an unknown
source.
The alarm was sent In late be-
cause of Redding breaking his
leg in an effort to get out of the
blazing house When the alarm
was turned In the firemen did
» good job of removing the fur-
niture so that the only damage
that was done was by the water

Census report shows that there
were 732 bales of cotton ginned
In Creek rounty from the 1934
crop prior to September 16, 1934,
os compared with 096 bales gin-
ned to September 16, 1933. This
increase Is thought to come from
the drouth, with cotton opening
earlier, as estimates show about
one-third of a crop this year, ac-
cording to Lester Childress, spec-
ial agent.
