The smoke house of the Oklaho-
ma Packing Co., located in the
south end of the Santa Fe yards,
caught tire this morning at 4 o'clock,
causing damage estimated at In
thousand dollars to the property.
The flames originated in the third
■ floor and the entire upper part of
Khe building was a mass of flames
before the tire department received
the alarm. When the department
began work, the fire had broken out
in every floor and it looked as
thought the entire plant would be
destroyed. After two hours hard
work the tlames were under contro
but the building was left a total
wreck and is still smoldering^

department, returned home this
morning after attending the tire-
men's convention here.
Mrs. Tan Winter went to Arcadia j
this morning to spend a few days
visiting friends.
Rev. C. B. Larrabee of the Ep-
worth University, who has been
quite sick for several days is able to
be out again. He went to Cushing
this morning to visit friends, fur a
few days,
Frank Hubbard, mayor of Mus-
kogee, is in the city on business.
Mr. Hubbard was commission for
Indian Territory at the St. Louis
world's fair,
H, A. Armstrong, editor of the
Olustee Outlook, returned home
this morning after spending a daj
in the city buying new printing
material for his office at that place.

FIRE
At G:30 last night a small fire
occurred at the home of S. J. Benge
at 006 W. 8th street, though no
damage was done. The Are caught
from a flue hole that was pasted
| over with paper. Chief Kessler and
! No. 2 and 3 stations responded but
j their services were not needed, the
' blaze being extinguished with a
j bucket of v ater.
Mrs. E. B. Watson of St. Louis,
who has been here for several weeks
visiting at the home of her brother
John Hope and family, returned to
her home this morning.
C. P. Beauchamp of 507 W. 8th
street, left for Seneca, Missouri,
this morning to make an extended
visit with relatives.
