Number ol' Letters on Advertised List
Is Growing Smaller.
"The parcel post is responsible for
lessening the number of letters that
are placed on the advertised list,"
was the statement of Postmaster M-
T. Kirk today. The reason for this,
Mr. Kirk declared, is that no packages
are accepted for delivery by parcel
post unless the return is written or weeks
printed on the package with the name
of the sender- If the name is not
placed there the package will be, held
up- If a package goes to the wrong
address it can scon be located and re-
turned to the sender.
Now persons are beginning to place
the return address on letters. Here-
tofore when a letter was sent without
the return address and was not called
for, It has been placed on the adver-
tised list- If not called for then, it Is
sent to tbe dead letter office. The last

Caps and gowns will be worn by the
high school graduates at , the' com-
mencement exercises this year. This
was the decision of the school board
at u meeting last night. This action
was taken by reason of the fact that
freyuently some members of the class
are able to afford much more lavish
and expensive costumes than others.
The board last night decided that
district No. 3 school should be given
representation on the school board, and
two persons will be appointed from
that district to act as members- Dis-
trict No- .1 lies out of the corporation
and iu West Bartlesville, but because
of the population It was decided to
give that district representation.
