Oil excitement at Oklahoma City
still continues. Edmond has no oil
well but we are "oil" right without It.

Crop condition In Oklahoma still
continues favorable and the prospects
are for a record breaker in the way of
crops,

in all parts of the town one can see
the many little family gardens spring-
ing up and the busy housewife tending
and planting more.

Since the Spencer prospect well
has shown signs of being an oil pro-
ducer the Edmond oil and gas com-
pany ought to begin work.
There was a report here this morn
Ing on the street that oil was running
over the mouth of the prospect welt ai
Spencer and into the river.

You who have lawns should try and
outao your neighbor this summer.
There Is nothing which will add to the
beauty of our town than a nice kept
lawn.

The Arcadia Star of this week com-
pleted Its first year of publication and
the editor, Mr. Mitchell, says he will
continue the publication. Let all of
Arcadias good people help support him.

Patronize Edmond's merchants.
People tell us every day that they can
do better by selling their stuff here
than at Oklahoma City or Guthrie
and and can get more for their money
than at any place in the county.

Mrs. Shaver has gone on a trip to
Kansas and Missouri, She will visit
her sister and daughter.
Inez DeTar visited home folks Sun-
day.
Mr. Hughes, an old friend of Mr.

Gertie Guston took Sunday dinner
with Miss Pearl.
Ella Townsend is going to stay with
Mrs. Guston for a week or two.

Pearl Shaver visited Nettle Picket,
her old friend Sunday.

H. L. Griffin returned home from
Oklahoma City Saturday where he
has been serving as a juryman for the
past week.
Ray Marquis and Budge Keopple
spent Sunday with Charley T aull.
Ira Griffin spent Saturday and Sun-
day with relatives here and in Edmond.
Messrs Hoover, Basklns, Holmes
and Beresford called on Graff Dodd

Mr. Hoover, our road overseer re-
paired the brlgde near Mr. Page's

Mr. Holmes is putting In a farm

Mrs. McCurdy called at Mr. Beres-
fords Tuesday afternoon.
Arthur Allen spent Tuesday evening
with James Hogan.

[Left over from last week.]
Miss lessie Harrison visited friends
in Oklahoma City Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Tarrlngton visit
ed at Mr. Courtney's Sunday.
The Pleasant Ridge Literary closed
Friday and adjourned to meet again
the first Friday in October.
The boys of this district got a chance
to charivari the couple that married
about two weeks ago.
Some of the girls joined in the cha-
rivari at Mr. Millers, Miss Mary
Specht Miss Ella McKlnney and
others.
Willard Harrison went down to the
river to fish but he only caught one.
The Pleasant Ridge school will be
out the last of this month.
Mrs, A. J. Harrison went to town
Wednesday.
There will be a box supper at the
Pleasant Ridge school house the night
of the >ast day of school for the pur-
pose of raising money to get an organ
J. H. Harrison who has been on
the sick list is much improved.
J. Gray started to burn off a a patch
of ground but the fire got away and
burnt more than he wished.
Mr. Courtneys son-in-law has
moved on the old Murry place.

Mrs. J. M. Harrison is quite ill with
the neuralgia. Dr. Earnheart of
Spencer was called to see her.
Mr. and Mrs C. W. Thurston took
Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. J.
H. Hoback Sunday,
Elder Truelove preached last Sun-
day night at our school house to an
appreciative audience.
Rev Richie of Oklahoma City will
preach next Sunday. Let everyone

Mrs. Thomas McNeal from near
Council visited her mother, Mrs.
Thurston last Monday and Tuesday.

J. ty. Jolllff is suffering severely
with a felon on his hand.
Mrs. G. W. Field called on Mrs, E.
Thurston Wednesday.
Our Sunday school is progressing
under the able superlntendency of
Sam Hendricks,
Mrs. Hoback Is worse. She is be-
coming quite helpless.
Mr. Bater of the City who has been

out visiting Mr. and Mrs. Geo Moore
returned home Monday.
