We have never before
advertised a Special Sale.
It has been the practice of merchants in Small Towns
when trade was dull, to advertise Great Slaughter Sales;
pretending to sell their goods at cost to make room for their
4oo ::o paj| Stock, or to quit business, etc.
This practice has been so much abused and so much
fraud and deceit perpetrated on the public, that a merchant
who has a reputation at stake, will hesitate before advertis-
ing any kind of Special Sales.
But in view of the many so-called "bargain Sales" which
have been forced on the public of late, we have decided to

Are Sick
A Considerable amount of corn is
being marketed in Norman and the
farmers who are selling it have 110
cause to complain for they are getting a
a good price for it. Corn seems to be
in the lead of all cereals In all markets
both home and foreign and is
fast becoming the staple crop of this
country.
Thk territorial bonds for the sum
$48,000, appropriated by the late legis-
lature for Oklahoma s three educational
institutions, were sold this week and
brought a premium of $0 30 on each
$100. In face of the present money
stringency, this is a good price and
shows the people and capitalists have
faith in this country
