MYSTERY STILL IN NEW
JERSEY MURDER CASE
New York, Dee. 2r.—The mystery
surrounding the murder of the woman
whose body was found submerged In a
•pond in the outskirts of Harrison
appears no nearer a solution tonight
then when the body was discovered
The theory of which the detectives are
now working Is that the woman met
her death In Newark and that her
body was carried to the lonely pond
at} that the real scene of the crime
and the identity of the slayer might
be concealed. The Newar?; police are
tonight searching for the slayer, who
is toelived -to have met tho young I
woman by appointment in Newark
and then urged her to her death. Evi-
dence was found today that the woman
seen in Newark on Chrtstmas
evening by William Synder, a carpenter,
who stated after seeing the body that
the young woman had spoken to him
!n Newark on the night before Christ-
mas and asked him to be directed to
a restaurant. He said the woman
told him she was a stranger.
