J. II. Johnston, of Chandler, makes his announcement
this week for the democratic nomination of register of deeds.
Mr, Johnston is no stranger to our people, having taught
three sucessful teruiR of school in this district; then fore
needs no introduction to old .settlers. That Mr. Johnston
has all the qualifications necessary for a register of deeds is
true because of his actual experience in that office. Having
been, for four years, deputy register of deeds under the
present register, Mr. Crouch. Mr. Johnston has so acquain-
ted himself with the work in that office as to now hold the en-
viable reputation of being the best qualified man in the coun-
ty for the position which he seeks. Mr. Johnston will cer-
tainly carry this part of the ounty, and will, if nominated
be a strong man on the ticket. Pitness is Ins motto, and is
certainly commendable to any man aspiring to office.
