trip to Port Lo« Angeles as it
probably will be of interest tothem.
Port I>os Angeles is not a city, it
is not even a town, but it is claimed
to bo the longest pier in the world.
It is situated twenty one miles wost
of Ixis Angeles and cau be reached
by three modes of travel, trolley
cars, steam roads or carriages. The
pier is owned and operated by the
Southern Pacific Railroad Company
which pays the coynty ofLos-
Augeles 12500.00 per year in license
to collect toll ou all goods, lumber
and etc which couies in or goes out
hy this Port.
The day 1 visited this place my
business caused me to go Jo (X*ean
