TO KEEP BOVS
OUT OF SALOONS.
The *Ciiy Council of Blackwell Asked
for an Ordinance to Prohibit
Boys I roin Entering
Saloons.
Enid Needs Same Ordinance
Boys and Minors arc a Trouble to
I
Saloon Men. No Busiiess
in Saloons.
Blackwell Aug. 17.—The saloon j
men of this city will ask the council
tonight to enact an Ordinance pro-
Inciting minors frequenting the
saloonsof tbis city. In most instances
they have posted up signs notifying
minors that they are nut allowed in
the saloons, but apparently no atten
tion is paid to these signs, and of
course the saloon men could not eject
them by force without violating the
law.
Then also, the mar.-hal has no ai- -1
thority to force minors to keep out}
of the saloons, but where there is an '
ordinance prohibiting rninois ire-!
quenting saloons the police could en-j
force it. Thus it is with the object
in view of keeping boys out of the
saloons that the salcon men of this
city will tonight ask the city council!
to enact an ordinance that will cure !
this evil. It is a commendable move,
and the city council will undoubtedly
heartily respond to the request.
