GRAND CELEBRATION.
Thursday, November 16, will be
» gala day for Ponca City. Five
hundred invitations have been sent
out for the grand ball and banquet,
ami it is put at a low estimate when
predicted that we will have 10,000
people here on that great day—the
celebration of the new school house.
The committee who have had this
matter in charge have spared no time
or money in making preparations
for the largest gathering or people
ever held in any city in the territory.
People will he nere from all parts
of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and
Missouri.
The city will he turned over to
the visitors for the day and they are
welcome to the best of everything
to be found within the corporate
limits of the city. The best of ho-
tel accommodations to he found in
Oklahoma will bo found right in
the thriving city of Ponca City, the
brightest, liveliest and most pros-
perous city in the new country.
Arrangement has been made for
special trains from the north, east,
south and west. All trains on other
roads will make connection with the
Santa Fe excursion train, and ex-
cursion rates will he given. Trains
will arrive at Ponca City in the
morning, and those desiring, can
leave for their homes in the evening
or stay for the grand ball and ban-
quet at night.
The following Is the program which has
been prepared for the occasion:

the Santu Fe for one and one-third tare for
the round trip to Pouca City (buy tickets
to Cross siding) from all points between
Newton and Oklahoma City (including
Wellington ion Novamlier lit, good to re-
turn on the 17th. Excursion train leaves
Arkansas City at 12:35 p. in. and returns at
2 a. in. on the 17th.

derful, growing metropolis of the coming
great state of Oklahoma.
Ponca City will long he remem-
bered by all visitors who participate
in the festivities. Many a monied
man who comes here for pleasure
will take advantage of the situation
and the low prices in real estate, and
will make investments. The stran-
ger who is seeking a home will cast
his lot with us.
Ponca City is tlio most noted
place in Oklahoma.
Our business merchants are doing
a thriving business.

Over sixty new business and res-
idence buildings are now under
course of erection in Ponca City.

noon was the first meal served, and the
editor of this paper had tiie extreme
pleasure of partaking of the hospital-
ity of Mr. ami Mrs. Luaswell. The
dinner was served up in a manner that
would he a credit to any iirstclaBs hotel
to he found in tlio West. All the
choice delicacies of the season was laid
belore us and we did justice to the oc-
casion such as only a newspaper man
knows how. The new dining hnll is
neat ami clean, anil once a man takes a
meal there ho will become a regular
patron.
